Older horses with metabolic disorders such as Cushing's disease (ECS), EMS or laminitis have special requirements in terms of daily nutrition. The storage capacity of nutrients is reduced, which can weaken the immune system and increase susceptibility to infections. Reduced enzyme production in the gastrointestinal tract and the decline in intestinal motor function in the long digestive tract also make it difficult to optimise nutrient extraction. In order to specifically support older horses in maintaining body mass and building muscle, our grain-free Senior Muesli therefore contains easily digestible proteins and amino acids for a healthy muscle metabolism. An optimum protein/energy ratio and the high vitamin and mineral content ensure vitality. Milk thistle oil and easily digestible rice bran have a stimulating effect on the metabolism and provide energy. The cold-pressed milk thistle oil also contains a high proportion of omega-3 fatty acids and omega-6 fatty acids. A high proportion of lucerne and Timothy hay, rich in structure and vital substances, reliably promotes the chewing intensity of the muesli. This increases saliva production and has a stomach-friendly effect. The gently dried carrot chips add natural ß-carotene - the precursor to vitamin A - as well as other important trace elements. The feed is balanced with vitamins, minerals and trace elements in such a way that the daily ration is already fully balanced with a feeding of 1 kg per day. For horses with dental problems, the feed can also be fed soaked.
